I agree that better video quality would be nice, but isn't Dropshots one of the best places for sharing videos? It was a big factor in my choosing it over other possibilities.

What I'm wishing for is better captioning capabilities. I'd like it to be more like a little word processor, or like the windows we type in on message boards. I write some long captions and it's difficult to navigate through them to edit them. I'd also like to include clickable links in my captions and colors, smilies, and bold/italic text sometimes.

Oh! And I'm still waiting for the SEARCH function to return. On the old dropshots, it was sooooo awesome to be able to search by keyword based on what I'd written in my captions. I still caption with the search function in mind, hoping someday I'll be able to do that again. It will help immensely with my scrapbooking.

Another difficulty I've had many times is when I'm browsing through a large number of photos in the calendar view--say, my 1000 June photos--sometimes it will come up with an error message after scrolling down a few screens. And I wish when I navigate to another spot and then click Back it would return to the same spot I had been viewing rather than returning to the top of the collection of photos.

Finally, I'm STILL having trouble getting QOOP to work for making back-up discs of my photos. When I begin the process, a graphic whirs around for a while, then the site freezes. Is it because it can't handle the large number of photos I have (something around 50,000 I think, or more, based on the count which used to be a feature of dropshots, which I miss, by the way!) I don't see a way to select a subset of my photos to backup. I guess I need to submit another tech support ticket about this, but I thought I'd mention it here too.

I love dropshots, but I'm not committed yet because of the issues I wrote above.

I agree with Daniel. Video quality needs to be addressed. Even though I'm a lifetime member, I'm willing to pay more to have better quality videos!!! Come on DropShots. I know you can do it!

maybe it's just me, but I kind of like the softer image on top, it makes it look a bit more natural and photographic. Would it be possible to 'turn off' this image processing for those of us that do a bit of amateur photography?

Wow - the difference is subtle but a definite improvement. You lot are great. Love the site. It really is the best. I tell everyone about it.

One big question though. Is there a way to route Dropshots photos into Facebook? I can route photos to my Facebook profile directly from Picasa. I can also route a slideshow (random) from my Flickr profile. I'd like to be able to put a graphically interesting view of dropshots (different display options available) on my profile and have it viewable by certain friends in my friend profile. I think this type of application would also bring business to Dropshots. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, this functionality is not yet available. But it's on our list for the future!

There shouldn't be any different. Perhaps you need to update your Firefox browser?

we were all happy with the picture quality - what we want is better video quality. it'll also take some more space in your servers, but it's worth it!
